computer service shop identity & marketing materialsFor Computer Service Gooi en Wijdemeren I decided on whole visual identity - starting with logo and finishing with social media campaigns. I designed building signs, website icons, ads in print media, Christmas card, stationery, stamps and endless banners for promotions on different platforms.
event management company corporate identity developmentLuxatia International specialises in bringing people together through strategic business conferences & summits, professional training and b2b congresses. The company stands for the highest standards of quality in research and market analysis, finding right issues and then producing high-profile events. With given logo, my assignment was to develop all other corporate identity components (stationery and event programmes). Colour was used as a strong recognisable element that binds together quite complex construction of the logo, and because of the latter all other products are designed accordingly to clean and "transparent"intent of the company self-presentation vision.
financial magazine identity + layoutsMake Money magazine filled with its existence an empty niche on a market of finance-related media, offering analytical information for professionals in the area in local language (Czech). It has a quite unique idea and attractive territory of readers' market. They wanted to stand out visually and information-giving wise. I could influence only visual part of the concept and decided to go against anything made before in the country media market. The idea was to create standing out and minimalistic look, not very typical for financial media and magazine industry in general. I've created the whole concept and all layouts of the magazine, both versions - oriented on professionals one and one with more broad audience. I was responsible for visual identity development of all other supporting media and projects of the company and lead a small team as support working on website, additional newspaper in Russian language, advertising materials and often client's ads for magazine or newspaper or web.
book cover designOněgin byl Rusák (Onegin was Russian) is a novel by Czech author Irena Douskova. It is a personal autobiographical story of teenager girl growing up in Soviet Czechoslovakia, more specifically in Prague. Despite all the difficulties and confusion caused by absurdity of the time, main character manages to build a rich inner world. As city plays important part in the story, I put an illustration of city view from Petrin hill on a cover. Red colour stand for communism era and face outline - for very personal, diary-like style of telling a story.
web design studio identityDesignME provides smart solutions in web design working mostly with small and medium-seized enterprises. They wanted to have a young and fresh looking logo and very minimalistic website to bring the essence of who they are. I offered a concept of web pages based on their idea of designing less for clearer message. Logo I designed goes in several colours, and rectangular shapes relate to windows on computer monitor, word "design"stands out to accent studio main focus.
IT solutions company identityVolkman Group is represented by several daughter companies offering services in specific areas of IT expertise, operating mostly on B2B market. As company continues to grow and found new divisions, my task was to create "basic" element that would combine all other departments visually. Taking in consideration a fact that it is planned to add more divisions in future, I designed logotype that can be used as basis, with several other branch differences concepts, in order to have a direction for development. I created logos, letterhead, business cards, corporate colour palette and website mock-up.
special event logo + POS materialsLime&Tonic is an international company offering many-kinds-of-experiences (mostly, but not only, gastronomy oriented). They came up with the idea of discount cards for specific events and needed a logo and actual card and its envelope design. I used corporate font and incorporated illustrative part of company logo (recognisable lime halves) to create "urban and youthful" logo for that purpose, so event look and "visual behaviour" is within whole company identity and related to its mission.
night club logo and menuDoubleTrouble is a "classical" night club and dance bar in the touristic centre of Prague city. It offers mainstream music and focuses on their history in visual identity. As the venue plays several types of dance music throughout a week and organises different themed events, I decided to make an accent one common thing - music. My inspiration was in spinning disks or wet traces of glasses on a bar table and letters jumping to the rhythm.
BauhausPoster for the lecture on László Moholy-Nagy style and its influence in context of impact on contemporary (graphic) design aesthetics. Artwork is created as it it is done in artist's lifetime period (by artist himself). The work is inspired by main "guidelines" of Moholy-Nagy's pieces, including my favourite - A Lightplay: Black White Grey" movie, and whole constructivism stream ideas.
upscale market logotypeMange-Tout is London based small up-scale market offering organic groceries. With this logotype I intended to transfer whole lifestyle trend. It is designed on base of own created font and was inspired by flowing nature of plants silhouettes. As the name is French I also used letter inspired by traditional handwriting capitals.
event management company programmesDuring this project I didn't have so much freedom in my designs, but yet I reached for opportunity to create recognisable periodical print materials. I made guidelines for event programmes and designed icons for specific repeating types of sessions, plus palette of colours that can be paired with each other and used for specific topics (medicine science, business, automotive, etc.).
clothing label logotypeDressCode is a startup company for selling clothes made by different designers (teams) - that's why I made a logo to support beginning designers and make them recognisable by including their name into logotype. Besides there is a general version of logotype with a stripe that can be used to connect different label elements.

computer service shop identity & marketing materialsWe have worked with Elena on several projects now and, hopefully, will continue throwing at her new assignments as her dedication and sharp eye for details is a key to accomplishing work on time and as smoothly as one could ever imagine. As a very busy person it is crucial for my business to find people who are eager and capable of thinking on their own and of being great team players at the same time, so I was very lucky to meet such graphic designer as she is. It is exciting to work with a designer who also can easily explain why something is happening specific way and how it benefits my business. ------ csgw.nl
Elena Volkova / Head Designer
Design, for me, starts with a strong concept, idea that is the solution for a very specific problem. It is a part of a bigger message and serves the goal by emphasising its meaning visually. Having fine arts and marketing background I use my knowledge for creating designs that strike according to the occasion. Lead by motto – think more and keep it simple – I give my best approach to help our clients by creating and sending a clear message to their audience. Also I remember that right and wrong do not exist in graphic design, there is only effective, successful communication or unsuccessful one.
Looking forward to new challenges and adventures!
